A short note on who I am and how I think.

I come at the world from a broad technical and scientific background — biomedical science, imaging, biostatistics and computer science among them — and I'm happiest when an idea pulls several of those threads together at once.

Away from the desk I'm drawn to classical music, photography, creative gaming, and films on a big screen; to tennis, swimming, basketball and running; and, more than anything, to building and making things with my hands and my head.

What guides me is fairly simple: to keep becoming a better version of myself, and to be helpful, trustworthy and respectful while thinking independently and critically. I'd rather own a few well-made things and care for them for years than churn through cheap, throwaway ones — a long-held belonging feels like an extension of the person who keeps it.

The essays and posts here are my own opinions, written to think out loud. Take them as that: one person reasoning in the open, glad to be corrected.
